Ugo di San Vittore (m. 1141) fu teologo, filosofo e cardinale francese. Allievo e successore di G. di Champeaux, è stato autore colto e prolifico, interprete maturo dell'agostinismo e riferimento chiave per orientarsi nel complesso quadro teologico medievale.
Manlio della Serra ha conseguito un PhD in Filosofia medievale all'Università di Roma Tor Vergata, con attività di ricerca presso la Eberhard Karls Universität di Tübingen, collaborando con la cattedra di Storia della Chiesa della Facoltà Teologica. Alla produzione editoriale affianca la traduzione dal latino e dal tedesco e attualmente coordina diversi progetti culturali.
